Niki Burton

is the CEO and founder of Safe Spot Foundation and pure heart books. She's a Mum of four children with a passion for making a difference in this world of ours.

Born in New Zealand, Niki moved to Australia at the age of fifteen.  Graduating from Newcastle University with Bachelors Degrees in Teaching and Social Science and worked as an educator, Early Childhood director and tutor among other vocations. 

Niki’s first four pure heart books were published in 2012 and are currently used across the globe by families and professionals in the fields of early childhood, primary, secondary school, and adult social services.

More books have since been written by Niki and published under the Safe Spot Foundation banner. Safe Spot Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organisation who focuses on safety and well-being for people of all ages.  Both Safe Spot and pure heart are the foundations for Niki’s work as a social entrepreneur, allowing her to fulfill her destiny; making this world a better place - one heart at a time.


Julie Sneeden

was selected as pure heart books illustrator due to the emotive, expressive and vibrant nature of her artworks.  Julie was born in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.  She is a mother of four and a respected artist and illustrator, with artworks all over the world. 

Julie has also worked as a gift wrap designer, graphic artist and web artist.  She studied Fine Art for four years where she majored in photography and painting.  Some of Julie’s mediums include oil paint, water colour, photography, pastels and charcoal.  Her subjects are varied and include landscapes, citiscapes, figures, floral, still-life and collages.
